BJP and NDA  combined named former governor of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu for the candidate of upcoming presidential election 

According to July 18 pole, she is up against former union minister Yashwant Sinha, who is opposition candidate

Draupadi Murmu belongs to a tribal community and BJP president JP Nadda announced her name in party board meeting

If Draupadi Murmu wins the president election, she would be the first tribal president of India and second women president after pratibha patil 

Nadda further said, 20 names were discussed in the board meeting

The last date for filing nominations is is June 29 for the Presidential election polls 

The  polling for Presidential election will take place on July 18 and the votes will be counted on July 21

The time period for the current President Ram Nath Kovind ends on July 24

The election for the next president has to be held before that day (July 24)

Before it Drapaudi Murmu was the Governer of Jharkhand between 2015-2021

Murmu has also been National Executive member of BJP's ST morcha until April 2015.

Next, She also has been member of Odisha legislative assembly twice

She was also a minister of state in the Odisha government under Naveen Patnaik between 2000 and 2004.
